Philip Ellis with good progress on the Nürburgring

IMGP5688Round 3 and 4 of the Audi Sport TT Cup 2016 was part of the biggest motor sports event in the world, the ADAC 24 Hours Nürburgring. While the 44th running of the long distance race and the two WTCC races took place on the famous Nordschleife, the 20 single make cars of the TT Cup had to use the shortened Grand Prix circuit. Unlike three weeks ago in Hockenheim the whole event went much better for Philip Ellis. In the first heat the 23 years old Swiss of British and German origin was fighting for fourth position, until he finally had to settle for fifth position. The race on a still sunny Saturday morning saw Ellis starting and finishing in sixth position. Thanks to the gathered points in both races he climbed from eleventh to eight position in the championship. „I’m quite happy with my positions and the points, but it could have been better for me without some small mistakes. I’m still lacking a little bit on experience after I didn’t do any races in four years before. The most important thing is that I could show progress, therefore I am really looking forward to the next races where maybe I will be able to fight for podium places already.“ The next event will be on another famous track, the Norisring in Nürnberg on June 24 to 26.
