FIA WEC – Second place in season final for ByKOLLES Racing

Car #4 / TEAM BYKOLLES (AUT) / CLM P1/01 - AER / Simon Trummer (CHE) / Pierre Kaffer (DEU)- 6 Hours of Bahrain at Bahrain International Circuit - Sakhir - BahrainThe Austrian FIA WEC team ByKOLLES Racing finished the season in the top class of endurance racing with their fifth consecutive podium finish. After a second place for Kaffer/Trummer, the team is hungry for more success and prepares for the next season with the goal to claim the LMP1 privateer class victory.

Boris Bermes, Head of Operations ByKOLLES Racing : „Even though we narrowly missed the class victory, I am very happy with the final result and the work that our team did. In particular during the pit stop to repair a brake disk, they proved once again that they are able to work fast and precisely even under high pressure. We missed out on the victory by only one and a half minutes after six hours of racing, and that was due to the high tyre degradation in the initial stage of the race. Pierre and Simon did the best they could in this situation and regained as much lost time as possible once the conditions had improved for us. At the end of this season, especially these two deserve huge compliments for their error-free work. On Sunday we completed a successful rookie test with Rene Binder, and on Monday we began our preparations for 2016 with tyre tests.“

Pierre Kaffer : „It was an exciting and successful season with a great team that is willing to give everything for success. I am certain that the CLM P1/01 still has a huge potential and in 2016 we will come back stronger with a further developed car. Obviously, our big objective remains the class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is still great to be a part of this team and work together on this ambitious project.“

Simon Trummer : „I have completed my first FIA WEC season, and with two victories and three second places it has an absolutely positive result. Another feat I am somewhat proud of is that I did not make a single driver error in all eight races of the season. We worked together very well as a team and without a doubt we got the maximum out of our package. The approach in endurance racing is really different to that of single seater racing, but the new challenge is very interesting one that I want to face again in 2016.“
