25 super-license points for the Formula European Masters Champion

The Formula European Masters establishes itself as perfect stepping stone to Formula One. The 2019 champion will be granted 25 points for the Super License but the champion won’t be the only one to secure Super License points – the same applies to the drivers who finish second to ninth in the Formula European Masters ranking.

Last Wednesday at the Motorsports World Council, the FIA officially resolved upon Super License points for the Formula European Masters.  By awarding the Formula European Masters Champion 25 points, the world association underlines the significance of the series and supports young drivers on their way up to the pinnacle of motor racing.

The runner-up in the championship may look forward to 20 Super-License points, the third-placed young-gun to 15 and the fourth-placed to 10 points.  The fifth position is rewarded with seven points, the sixth with five and the seventh with three. The eighth-placed talent may add two points to his Super-License point tally, the ninth placed one.

« We are delighted about the decision of the FIA and already received first feedback by the teams that responded positively without exception. This stepn helps the Formula European Masters to once again establish as top-class young driver series, » said Walter Mertes, CEO of ‘Formel  Vermarktungs GmbH’ that organises and promotes the Formula European Masters. « In addition to the big number of points we also offer our drivers incomparable three and a half hours of track time, well-engineered vehicles and the highly professional DTM platform. »

The 2019 Formula 3 European Masters season will be kicked off in early May at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg.
