Race Performance claims Championship in the Asian Le Mans Series 2015/2016

2016-01-25-raceperformance-2With a second place at the season final of the Asian Le Mans Series in Sepang the team Race Performance together with it’s partner MOMO Megatron secures the title victory in the fiercely contested endurance championship. Niki Leutwiler and Oliver Webb shone a flawless drive and rejoiced as champions on the podium. “We earned that great success after a superb job of my team”, Michel Frey was overwhelmed after the final round in Malaysia and proudly added: “In the course of the last four races our car was really a benchmark of reliability. A special thanks goes to all our mechanics as well as to Urs Meier and Paul Thomas for the engineering. Thanks also to our drivers and especially to Niki Leutwiler, who stood fault free and drove constantly quick in all races of the season.” Right from the start Niki Leutwiler and Shinji Nakano dominated the championship with two victories at the season opener in Fuji. Another two second ranks in Buriram and at the season final of the Asian Le Mans Series in Sepang secured the deserved title victory for the likeable team from Switzerland. “Now it’s time to celebrate the success, however, we have to put our focus to racing again soon, starting with the preparation for the upcoming European Le Mans Series as well as the 24 hours of Le Mans.” 2016-01-25-raceperformance-1In the 2016 sports car season Race Performance together with it’s partner MOMO Megatron after a one years break will return into the European Le Mans Series as well as to the legendary 24 hours race in Le Mans. Alongside the Oreca 03 R Judd in the LMP2 class the successful team from Switzerland will also run one of the brand new Ligier JS P3 in the LMP3-Class. “Race Performance together with its partners is ahead of a huge program in the 2016 season”, team manager Michel Frey is looking forward to the upcoming challenges. “We will compete in the European Le Mans Series in the LMP2 class as well as in the LMP3 class. Furthermore we are back in Le Mans to participate in the legendary 24 hours race at the Sarthe. I am really happy about all the new tasks which are ahead of us and which we will face in our typical professional way, hopefully successful.” Beside the common race tracks Silverstone, Imola, Spielberg, Le Castellet and Estoril the cars of the team will also run in the additional race in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.
