A weekend of great endeavour and great satisfaction for the Kessel Racing team. In addition to the opening race of the ELMS Championship and the Michelin Le Mans Cup on the Paul Ricard circuit, the GT Sports Club was staged on the historic Italian circuit, in Monza.
On the Paul Ricard circuit the first victory was very quickly achieved on Saturday, with a fantastic performance by the crew of G. Piccini S. Pianezzola in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
But the weekend got even better when, at 16.30 on Sunday, the Ferrari 488 GTE of the female team of M. Gatting, R. Frey and M. Gostner crossed the finish line in second place in the GTE category.
An amazing result, thanks also to the tremendous work carried out by the whole team, with pit stops at the limit of perfection, and impeccable race management by the men at the pit wall.
To increase the enthusiasm in the Kessel Racing box, we had an exceptional guest, the legendary Michele Mouton, heroic and historical driver in our beloved group B.
He came to the Paul Ricard circuit as a representative of FIA WIM, to give his close support to the female crew.
The Team Manager of the female crew Deborah Mayer commented enthusiastically on the first podium of the first race: « It was a unique emotion to see our three girls on the podium already in the first race, we have worked hard and believed in ourselves from day one. For me it was quite a thrill, we can’t wait to get back on the track in Monza for the next race. »
Ninth position, however, for the all Italian crew of Schiavoni, Pianezzola, Piccini in the GTE category.
Also a good weekend which ended in sixth position for the crew O. Hancock and John Hartshorne in the Michelin Le Mans Cup category.
Positive results also come from the Italian circuit of Monza in the GT Sports Club Championship, where our 3 drivers went to battle in a weekend extremely complicated by downpours.
A fantastic performance by our standard bearing American, S. Earle, who aboard his Ferrari 488 GT3 took first place both in Race 1 and in Race 2 in the Iron Cup.
Wonderful performance also by Murad Sultanov, who, with an almost impeccable weekend of driving, managed to close in the overall standings, race 1 in third position and race 2 with a fantastic second place.
A very pleasing weekend for team principal Ronnie Kessel who looks back and comments, with great admiration, on the racing weekend.

Upcoming events not to be missed that will see the team Kessel Racing are the Ferrari Challenge on the 4 th /5 th of May at the Austrian circuit of Spielberg and then on the 11 th /12 th May on the track at Monza for the second appointment of ELMS and Michelin Le Mans Cup.
