The final rounds of 2019’s Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia and GT4 Asia campaigns at Shanghai have been moved back by one week to September 27/28.
Championship organisers, SRO Motorsports Group, have chosen to reschedule the season finale following confirmation that next year’s Singapore Grand Prix now clashes with Shanghai’s previous date.
All races will be run on Friday and Saturday due to Sunday 29 September being designated a working day in China.
Benjamin Franassovici, Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia and GT4 Asia General Manager: “We know how important the Singapore Grand Prix weekend has become for many drivers in the region so it makes perfect sense to push back our Shanghai round by one week. It’s important we ensure the region’s Pro and Am drivers have as many opportunities to race as possible, and the appeal of doing so in Singapore – which only comes around once a year – is obvious. I would like to thank Shanghai for accommodating our request so close to the start of 2019.”
The opening rounds of Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia and GT4 Asia, which for the past two seasons have been collectively known as Blancpain GT Series Asia, take place at Sepang in Malaysia on April 6/7.
