Asian Le Mans Series – Race Performance travels to Malaysia with tailwind

2015-11-04-raceperformance-1After the dominant race victory at the season opener of the Asian Le Mans Series in Fuji the team Race Performance together with it’s partner MOMO-Megatron is looking forward to the second round of the Endurance series in Sepang now. The driver line-up with Niki Leutwiler and Shinji Nakano aims to repeat the podium success at the upcoming three hours race in Malaysia.

“My anticipation for the second round of the championship is really high”, Niki Leutwiler appears quite ambitious ahead of the weekend. “All elements of the Fuji success are at our hands again and when we manage to keep track of the things and approach our task with calmness, we should be able to claim a good result again. However, we will do the best we can, even when we – according to the weather forecast – are faced with difficult conditions at the weekend.”

The Circuit in Sepang is 5,543 kilometres long and covers fifteen curves and eight straights. The drivers will reach a top-speed of more than 300 km/h. Furthermore the circuit provides some good overtaking possibilities and promises a race full of thrilling action. “It’s important to get used to the circuit quickly and then to focus all our efforts on the three hours of the race on Sunday”, explains team manager Michel Frey. “We are convinced that we belong to the top-contenders for the victory in Malaysia.”

2015-11-04-raceperformance-2With an impressive performance the crew of Race Performance claimed already the victory at the season opener of the series at the traditionally Fuji circuit in Japan. Started from the pole position, Niki Leutwiler and Shinji Nakano had a great battle for the victory and finally crossed the finish line first, with a huge lead on the second ranking opponent.

The second round of the Asian Le Mans Series takes place on Sunday (November 8th), covering a distance of three hours. The driver duo of the team Race Performance will be on the hunt for a reasonable lap time already in the qualifying on Saturday, in order to snatch a good position for the starting grid of the race. “It’s important to stay cool and to deliver a flawless performance despite of the difficult weather condition we are expecting”, says Michel Frey.
