The Kaspersky Motorsport team made up of Alexander Moiseev, Riccardo Ragazzi and Francisco Guedes came 4th in the GENT class at the Gulf 12 Hours Endurance Race. The race took place at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi on 11th December.
The Kaspersky Motorsport drivers participated in two six-hour races, starting in daylight and finishing after nightfall, in the Ferrari 458 GT3 serviced by the Italian AF Corse team. The main aim of the race was to prepare the drivers for the new season on a professionally designed track with clear features and predictable weather.
As with the previous races of the 2015 season, it required maximum concentration and effort from the drivers and the rest of the team. Qualification saw Kaspersky Motorsport on 2nd position in GENT category. Of course, the skills of the drivers and the right choice of settings for the car, in combination with a competent racing strategy, can create the necessary conditions for a good result.
From the start, Kaspersky Motorsport drivers competed fiercely. However, two hours into the race the car had to make a pit stop for lengthy repairs of a gearbox and back to the track in 52min.
Another Kaspersky Motorsport member Marco Cioci with a teammates Ilya Melnikov and Jack Gerber won in PRO-AM class. « From the start we showed a good speed and felt confidence in the top three. However, on the end of the second hour I drove the car into the pit stop to repair a gearbox. We lost there 52min and after that became on the track. We just did not have enough sporting good fortune to finish among the leaders but my teammates and myself successfully passed the endurance test. We should not give up!
