In the coming weeks, the motor-racing enthusiasts are offered the opportunity to make DTM history: for the first time they can design the trophy for the drivers’ champion in the famous touring-car series. The glass trophy that was proudly raised up by many, many DTM Champions, in the past, stands for top-class sporting competition and international motor racing. The DTM umbrella organisation, ITR e.V., announces a design contest and in this contest, fans, artists and designers may enter propositions for the design of the 2017 DTM Drivers’ Championship trophy. By doing so, the fans can make a direct contribution to the new, more modern image of the series.
More action. More excitement. More passion. Suiting the motto ‘Feel the Roar’, the enhanced DTM version makes for even more enthusiasm at the German and European racetracks – and integrates the fans more than in the past: we are looking for the best design proposition for the 2017 DTM trophy. Everybody may participate as the DTM fan community at Facebook will choose its favourite, thus determining the look of the trophy one of the DTM drivers will raise up in October, after the season finale.
The contest for the best design has been kicked off and with immediate effect, creative motor-racing enthusiasts, designers and artists are invited to submit their designs up to 12th July, 2017. In late July, a jury comprising several will present the best three creations to the international DTM audience. And then, the fans will decide in a voting period which trophy the 2017 DTM champion will hold in his hands.
The participant whose design will be realised will be rewarded with a unique prize: the DTM season-finale weekend at the Hockenheimring (13th to 15th October) with VIP treatment including trophy presentation, a ride in the DTM-Taxi and a Meet&Greet with the 2017 DTM Champion. The second and third-placed designs will be rewarded with a 2018 season-ticket each. And every submission that meets the conditions for participation will be rewarded with a small present.
