Le store de coffre \u00e9tait-il vraiment n\u00e9cessaire ? Voici les questions auxquelles je vais tenter de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 travers cet essai.<\/p>\n

Pour sa dixi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de Civic, Honda nous propose une alternative sportive \u00e0 la Type R<\/a> : le mod\u00e8le 1.5L Sport. Un rictus est certainement apparu au coin de votre bouche. Comment un moteur de 1\u2019500 cm3 pourrait permettre \u00e0 une Civic, dont le gabarit a fortement \u00e9volu\u00e9 (+ 13 cm), de pr\u00e9tendre \u00e0 des vell\u00e9it\u00e9s sportives ? Tout simplement gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l’utilisation d’un turbo et \u00e0 la grande exp\u00e9rience des motoristes du constructeur japonais. Le rendement et la fiabilit\u00e9 des moteurs Honda n’est plus \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer.<\/p>\n

Les 182 ch du petit 1.5L peuvent para\u00eetre ridicules face aux 320 ch de la nouvelle Type R<\/a> que mon coll\u00e8gue a d\u00e9j\u00e0 pu essayer au mois de juin. Cependant, \u00e0 titre de comparaison, la Civic Type R de la huiti\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration proposait 201 ch avec son 2.0L atmosph\u00e9rique avant d’\u00eatre remplac\u00e9 en 2015 par le 2.0L turbo<\/a>, faisant alors bondir sa puissance \u00e0 310 ch. Celle qui nous int\u00e9resse aujourd’hui ne lui rend donc que 19 ch, mais affiche un couple sup\u00e9rieur avec 240 Nm contre 197 Nm pour l\u2019ancienne Type R pr\u00e9cit\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Au premier regard quelque chose m’interpelle : sous bien des angles, on croirait voir une Subaru WRX si le logo en H n’ornait pas l’imposante calandre. Je trouve sa proue tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussie, avec ses phares allong\u00e9s et son bouclier muni de grosses prises d’air, en partie factices. Je d\u00e9plore juste la pr\u00e9sence d’un disgracieux emplacement de plaque en plastique noir au format europ\u00e9en. Ses vis de fixations \u00e9tant plus espac\u00e9es que la dimension de nos plaques suisses, il n’est pas possible de le retirer sans laisser des trous apparents.<\/p>\n

Sa poupe me fait plut\u00f4t penser \u00e0 une Toyota Prius de premi\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Je vous laisse prendre cela comme un compliment ou une critique. La double sortie d’\u00e9chappement est par contre plus \u00e9l\u00e9gante que la triple dont est \u00e9quip\u00e9e la Civic Type R<\/a>. Les bas de caisse noirs ressortent bien sur notre mod\u00e8le Blanc Orchid Pearl (CHF 750.-). Ils relient visuellement le spoiler avant et le fond de pare-chocs arri\u00e8re qui entoure les sorties d’\u00e9chappement. La dimension des roues me semble un peu \u00abl\u00e9g\u00e8re\u00bb\u00a0: les pneus en 235\/45R17 sont un peu perdus dans les passages de roues.<\/p>\n

A l\u2019int\u00e9rieur, je d\u00e9couvre de magnifiques applications en carbone sur le tableau de bord et sur les panneaux de portes avant. Les panneaux arri\u00e8re n’ont pas droit \u00e0 la m\u00eame finition, se contentant de simples plastiques. Les si\u00e8ges, chauffants, ont un design assez banal. J’esp\u00e9rais des si\u00e8ges plus enveloppants. Les places arri\u00e8re permettront aux passagers de voyager dans de bonnes conditions, la hauteur au toit \u00e9tant importante. Le volant est bien proportionn\u00e9 et esth\u00e9tique, seul le design des diverses commandes habituelles ne me donne pas une impression de qualit\u00e9. Face \u00e0 moi je d\u00e9couvre l’instrumentation, d\u00e9coup\u00e9e en 3 parties. En son centre se situe un \u00e9cran affichant un grand compte-tour et les autres infos de conduite. La partie de gauche affiche la temp\u00e9rature du liquide de refroidissement, celle de droite la jauge \u00e0 carburant. Le tout est tr\u00e8s lisible et bien positionn\u00e9, contrairement \u00e0 la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente. J’ai juste eu de la peine \u00e0 m’habituer aux commandes peu intuitives de l’ordinateur de bord.<\/p>\n

\nLa position du s\u00e9lecteur de la boite manuelle est agr\u00e9able. Le pommeau tombe bien sous la main, le coude pos\u00e9 sur l’accoudoir. Dommage de ne pas pouvoir fermer compl\u00e8tement les rangements qui s\u2019y trouvent. Comme c’est de plus en plus souvent le cas, le levier de frein \u00e0 main est remplac\u00e9 ici par un interrupteur. Les personnes dictant ce choix n’ont certainement jamais roul\u00e9 sur des routes de col enneig\u00e9es… Concernant le Multim\u00e9dia, l’\u00e9cran tactile de 7 pouces permet de contr\u00f4ler et r\u00e9gler les diverses fonctions dont les applications Apple Car Play et Android Auto. Pour recharger les mod\u00e8les pourvus de cette technologie, une base de recharge sans fil se trouve devant le levier.<\/p>\n

Prenons maintenant la route. Le premier trajet, \u00e0 allure mod\u00e9r\u00e9e, permet de mettre en temp\u00e9rature la m\u00e9canique et de se familiariser gentiment avec la belle, enfin, la Civic. Le confort est bon, aid\u00e9 en cela par des amortisseurs pilot\u00e9s. Le freinage fait preuve d’un excellent mordant. Le moteur est plein d\u00e8s les plus bas r\u00e9gimes, et la s\u00e9lection de bo\u00eete est rapide et pr\u00e9cise. Pour le moment c’est un sans-faute en termes d\u2019agr\u00e9ment.<\/p>\n

Les freins quant a eu ont montr\u00e9 une excellente endurance malgr\u00e9 des dimensions modestes. La direction assist\u00e9e \u00e9lectrique adaptative offre un bon feeling et s’av\u00e8re tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9able pour les man\u0153uvres.<\/p>\n

Pour les trajets autoroutiers et sur les routes principales, j’ai appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 les aides \u00e0 la conduite qui sont ici nombreuses, avec notamment le r\u00e9gulateur de vitesse adaptatif, l\u2019assistant de maintien sur la voie, le freinage automatique d’urgence, la reconnaissance des panneaux, etc. A noter que tous ces \u00e9quipements sont de s\u00e9rie sur ce mod\u00e8le Sport Plus, tout comme le toit ouvrant en verre, le syst\u00e8me d’amortissement actif, le chargeur de portable sans fil, les si\u00e8ges chauffants, le d\u00e9verrouillage et d\u00e9marrage sans cl\u00e9, et j\u2019en passe.<\/p>\n

La consommation moyenne lors de cet essai, principalement effectu\u00e9 sur petites routes, s’est mont\u00e9e \u00e0 8.4 l\/100km. Et pour le trajet de Martigny \u00e0 Crissier, en grande partie sur autoroute, il m\u2019a fallu compter sur un honn\u00eate 5.6 l\/100km. Des valeurs plus que raisonnables au vu de l’agr\u00e9ment de conduite et des performances de cette Civic Sport.<\/p>\n
