\nMardi 14 novembre a eu lieu la pr\u00e9sentation suisse de la Ferrari Portofino. Symbole d\u2019innovation et de hautes technologies, l\u2019\u00c9cole Polytechnique F\u00e9d\u00e9rale de Lausanne semblait \u00eatre le lieu id\u00e9al pour la pr\u00e9sentation de la rempla\u00e7ante de la California, apr\u00e8s 8 ans d\u2019une belle carri\u00e8re.<\/strong><\/p>\n

C’est un contexte plut\u00f4t original, puisque c\u2019est une brochette de 200 \u00e9tudiants et quelques journalistes qui ont eu la chance de d\u00e9couvrir \u2013 en premi\u00e8re Suisse \u2013 la Ferrari Portofino au centre du campus lausannois, ce un peu moins de trois mois apr\u00e8s son annonce officielle<\/a>. Mais avant cela, ceux-ci ont assist\u00e9 \u00e0 une conf\u00e9rence de pr\u00e8s de deux heures dans un des auditoires de l\u2019\u00e9cole. Trois personnalit\u00e9s du constructeur au cheval cabr\u00e9 vont s\u2019exprimer\u00a0: Jean-Philippe Leloup, Managing Director of Ferrari Central\/East Europe GmbH, Dennis de Munck, Director Talent Acquisition of Ferrari S.p.A, et Michael Leiters, Chief Technology Officer of Ferrari S.p.A. En entr\u00e9e, une pr\u00e9sentation globale avec de nombreuses images d\u2019archives retra\u00e7ant les 70 ann\u00e9es de la marque, montrant notamment la premi\u00e8re Ferrari 125S de 1947. Certains \u00e9tudiants ont sans doute \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tonn\u00e9s d\u2019apprendre qu\u2019avant m\u00eame sa cr\u00e9ation, la Scuderia Ferrari n\u2019\u00e9tait autre que l\u2019\u00e9curie de course\u2026 d\u2019Alfa Romeo\u00a0! Ce pour rebondir et expliquer \u00ab\u00a0C\u2019est pour cela que Ferrari a la comp\u00e9tition dans le sang, cela fait partie int\u00e9grante de notre ADN\u00a0\u00bb, conclut \u00e0 la fin de sa pr\u00e9sentation Dennis de Munck.<\/p>\n

Michael Leiters prend ensuite la parole. D\u00e8s l\u2019entame, il s\u2019adresse aux futurs ing\u00e9nieurs : \u00ab\u00a0Pour comprendre Ferrari, vous devez faire trois choses\u00a0: conduire une Ferrari, vous rendre \u00e0 Maranello sur le site de production de Ferrari, et enfin, vous rendre \u00e0 Monza pour assister au Grand Prix de Formule 1 \u00bb. C\u2019est sans doute ainsi que l\u2019on peut prendre la pleine mesure \u00e0 la fois de l\u2019histoire, des sensations, et des d\u00e9fis technologiques qui composent l\u2019un des constructeurs automobiles les plus prestigieux au monde. Puis celui-ci attaque le repas principal : la pr\u00e9sentation du d\u00e9veloppement de la Ferrari Portofino<\/a>, avec tous les d\u00e9fis engendr\u00e9s par la conception d\u2019un v\u00e9hicule moderne \u00e0 hautes performances.<\/p>\n

Car m\u00eame s\u2019il s\u2019agit du mod\u00e8le d\u2019entr\u00e9e de gamme de la marque, la Ferrari Portofino repr\u00e9sente plusieurs d\u00e9fis de taille, \u00e0 commencer par celui impos\u00e9 par la cin\u00e9matique du toit, dont le d\u00e9ploiement est possible jusqu\u2019\u00e0 40 km\/h en 14 secondes seulement. Une voiture dot\u00e9e d\u2019un toit dur escamotable, un \u00ab coup\u00e9-cabriolet \u00bb en somme, rien de bien extraordinaire \u00e0 priori. Entre ing\u00e9nieurs, on serait m\u00eame tent\u00e9 de dire que c\u2019est du \u00ab Know-how \u00bb… Mais comme l\u2019a \u00e9voqu\u00e9 Michael Leiters, la difficult\u00e9 consiste \u00e0 designer une voiture qui soit aussi belle en configuration ouverte que ferm\u00e9e. Mais ce n\u2019est pas tout, car comme toujours, il faut concevoir une voiture \u00e0 la fois plus performante, plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re, et plus \u00e9conome que sa devanci\u00e8re ! L\u2019ensemble de la voiture a \u00e9t\u00e9 ainsi r\u00e9duit de 80 kg par rapport \u00e0 la California, alors que sa puissance a augment\u00e9 de 40 ch pour franchir le cap des 600 ch ! En parall\u00e8le, les \u00e9missions de CO2 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9duites de 10%. Et tout cela, avec un nombre restreint d\u2019employ\u00e9s, Ferrari \u00e9tant un constructeur artisanal. Ainsi, comme le rel\u00e8ve Michael Leiters, \u00ab Chaque ing\u00e9nieur doit avoir des comp\u00e9tences de haut niveau dans plusieurs domaines, car Ferrari n\u2019emploie pas un sp\u00e9cialiste pour chaque \u00e9l\u00e9ment cl\u00e9 du v\u00e9hicule \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Au niveau des nouveaut\u00e9s, on rel\u00e8vera notamment que la direction \u00e9lectrique offre une variation du couple en continu en fonction des conditions de conduite, ce qui s\u2019av\u00e8re tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressant pour que le conducteur puisse avoir totale confiance en sa monture m\u00eame dans des conditions \u00ab\u00a0limite\u00a0\u00bb. Ainsi, plus le conducteur d\u00e9fie l\u2019adh\u00e9rence en braquant toujours plus, plus le couple augmente au volant\u00a0: il devient donc plus difficile de tourner, ce qui limite le risque de perdre l\u2019adh\u00e9rence. A l\u2019inverse, en cas de d\u00e9rive prononc\u00e9e du train arri\u00e8re, le couple impos\u00e9 est minimal dans le sens du contre-braquage pour faciliter cette man\u0153uvre \u00e0 son conducteur. Cela \u2013 comme tout le reste \u2013 nous donne \u00e9videmment tr\u00e8s envie d\u2019essayer cette Ferrari Portofino<\/a>\u00a0! <\/p>\n

Au terme de la conf\u00e9rence, la place \u00e9tait naturellement aux questions. L\u2019un des \u00e9tudiants interrogea\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Allez-vous pouvoir continuer \u00e0 faire des voitures toujours plus puissantes malgr\u00e9 les normes anti-pollution toujours plus contraignantes\u00a0?\u00a0\u00bb. La r\u00e9ponse de Michael Leiters fut sans appel\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0M\u00eame si nous avons des plafonds plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s en terme d\u2019\u00e9mission \u00e9tant donn\u00e9e notre petite production, nous n\u2019\u00e9chapperons pas \u00e0 la r\u00e9volution de l\u2019automobile. Ainsi, Ferrari travaille d\u00e9j\u00e0 sur un projet de voiture hybride. Mais ce que j\u2019esp\u00e8re sinc\u00e8rement, c\u2019est que nous pourrons toujours proposer \u00e0 nos clients un moteur V12 atmosph\u00e9rique, car un tel moteur reste une exp\u00e9rience unique de par l\u2019agr\u00e9ment et la sonorit\u00e9 qu\u2019il procure.\u00a0\u00bb. Esp\u00e9rons qu\u2019il a raison, car ce serait \u00e9videmment triste de voir un constructeur tel que Ferrari \u00eatre contraint de se concentrer sur l\u2019hybridation et sur les moteurs suraliment\u00e9s. <\/p>\n

\nLe soir m\u00eame, nous avons pu go\u00fbter \u00e0 une toute autre ambiance dans le Swiss Tech Convention Center, situ\u00e9 en p\u00e9riph\u00e9rie de l\u2019Ecole Polytechnique F\u00e9d\u00e9rale de Lausanne. Cette fois, ce sont les clients VIP et amis proches de la marques qui sont \u00e0 l\u2019honneur. Peu apr\u00e8s 20h30, c\u2019est Francesco Bianchi, President Europe Middle East & Africa, qui ouvre le bal. Bien choy\u00e9s, les convives d\u00e9couvrent ensuite une mise en sc\u00e8ne digne d\u2019une premi\u00e8re mondiale dans un grand salon, au terme de laquelle sont d\u00e9voil\u00e9es trois exemplaires de la Ferrari Portofino. Outre la blanche qui \u00e9tait pr\u00e9sente un peu plus t\u00f4t sur le campus de l\u2019EPFL, il y avait une Portofino grise mais bien s\u00fbr aussi, une Portofino rouge\u00a0! Car comme le disait Enzo Ferrari : \u00ab\u00a0Demandez \u00e0 un enfant de vous dessiner une voiture, elle sera rouge\u00a0!\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n
