La consommation en hiver figure sans doute parmi les sujets les plus sensibles concernant la voiture \u00e9lectrique. On peut en effet lire tout et son contraire \u00e0 ce sujet : d’un c\u00f4t\u00e9, des d\u00e9tracteurs qui pr\u00e9tendent que la consommation double ou triple (ou plus commun\u00e9ment, qu’elle “s’envole”), et de l’autre, des utilisateurs qui les contredisent en argumentant que la quasi totalit\u00e9 des voitures neuves sont \u00e9lectriques en Norv\u00e8ge, un des pays les plus froids d’Europe. Afin de mener notre propre enqu\u00eate sur cette question, nous nous sommes mis au volant de l’Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce en plein hiver.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dans un premier temps, il convient de faire le tour du v\u00e9hicule, plus particuli\u00e8rement de ses caract\u00e9ristiques en mati\u00e8re d\u2019autonomie et de consommation. L’Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce est\u00a0dot\u00e9e d\u2019une batterie de 54 kWh dont la capacit\u00e9 nette est de 51 kWh. Il s\u2019agit de la capacit\u00e9 de la batterie disponible pour la conduite et donc sur laquelle est bas\u00e9e la jauge de % restant de la batterie de l\u2019ordinateur de bord. Premi\u00e8rement, rappelons qu\u2019il ne faut pas confondre cette jauge avec l\u2019autonomie affich\u00e9e en km, qui va varier en fonction de la conduite qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 appliqu\u00e9e durant un certain temps (variable selon les mod\u00e8les). Il est donc tout \u00e0 fait normal que lorsqu\u2019il reste par exemple 50 % de batterie, l\u2019autonomie indiqu\u00e9e ne soit pas toujours la m\u00eame.<\/p>\n

L\u2019exemple ci-dessus permet de v\u00e9rifier que la consommation affich\u00e9e correspond effectivement au pourcentage de batterie utilis\u00e9. En multipliant 23 par 0,85, on trouve une \u00e9nergie d\u00e9pens\u00e9e de 19,55 kWh. En multipliant 51 kWh (capacit\u00e9 nette totale) par 0,39 (% de batterie utilis\u00e9), on trouve une \u00e9nergie d\u00e9pens\u00e9e de 19,89 kWh. On retombe donc sur nos pieds, ce qui signifie que la consommation affich\u00e9e par l’ordinateur de bord est r\u00e9aliste.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pour conna\u00eetre la consommation du v\u00e9hicule selon la norme WLTP, il faut diviser la capacit\u00e9 nette de la batterie par l\u2019autonomie annonc\u00e9e par le constructeur (ici 321 km), ce qui nous fournit une valeur cible de 15,9 kWh\/100 km. Premi\u00e8re observation qui ne sera qu\u2019un rappel pour certains : la consommation WLTP \u00ab nette \u00bb, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire pendant la conduite, est sensiblement plus faible que la consommation WLTP annonc\u00e9e qui est de 19 kWh\/100 km pour ce v\u00e9hicule. Cela s\u2019explique par le fait que la consommation annonc\u00e9e prend en compte les pertes de charge (19,5 % pour ce mod\u00e8le). Les pertes de charge variant suivant la technologie embarqu\u00e9e, l\u2019\u00e9cart n\u2019est pas le m\u00eame sur tous les mod\u00e8les et varie g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement entre 5 et 30 % en laboratoire (puis \u00e9galement en pratique suivant le type de borne employ\u00e9e, la temp\u00e9rature, etc.).<\/p>\n

Bien qu\u2019il f\u00fbt n\u00e9cessaire de l\u2019\u00e9voquer afin d\u2019\u00e9viter toute confusion entre les deux valeurs, les pertes de charge ne nous concernent aucunement pour ce test : c\u2019est la consommation de 15,9 kWh\/100 km qui fait donc office de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Les conditions du test sont les suivantes :<\/h2>\n

– Dates : 19 novembre au 2 d\u00e9cembre 2025, pendant le premier pic de froid de l\u2019hiver 2025-2026.<\/p>\n

– Le v\u00e9hicule a \u00e9t\u00e9 parqu\u00e9 dans un garage durant les trois premi\u00e8res nuits afin qu\u2019il soit d\u00e9nu\u00e9 de givre pour les photos du lendemain (le v\u00e9hicule a subi plusieurs arr\u00eats avec chauffage et phares allum\u00e9s durant les pauses photo).<\/p>\n

– Il a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 volontairement parqu\u00e9 et recharg\u00e9 dehors, ce qui a engendr\u00e9 quelques d\u00e9sagr\u00e9ments avec le c\u00e2ble rest\u00e9 coinc\u00e9 dans la trappe qui \u00e9tait gel\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

– Aucune fonction de pr\u00e9chauffage lors de la recharge n\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

– Tous les d\u00e9marrages \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur le matin ont eu lieu par des temp\u00e9ratures n\u00e9gatives.<\/p>\n

– La voiture a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9e pour des trajets quotidiens sur tous types de routes, avec une majorit\u00e9 de voies rapides entre 100 et 120 km\/h.<\/p>\n

– Durant la conduite, la temp\u00e9rature a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement n\u00e9gative, atteignant m\u00eame les -10 degr\u00e9s le soir du 22 novembre.<\/p>\n

– Bien que le mode de conduite Advanced Efficiency \u2013 le plus \u00e9conomique \u2013 ait \u00e9t\u00e9 privil\u00e9gi\u00e9, le mode Dynamic a aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 afin de tester les performances du v\u00e9hicule (dans ce mode, aucune \u00e9nergie n\u2019est r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9e au freinage, ce qui augmente la consommation).<\/p>\n

R\u00e9sultat et interpr\u00e9tation :<\/h2>\n

La consommation relev\u00e9e est de 21,9 kWh\/100 km sur les 1092 km du test<\/strong>, soit 38 % de plus que la consommation WLTP. Il faut toutefois pond\u00e9rer ce r\u00e9sultat par le fait que m\u00eame avec une m\u00e9t\u00e9o optimale, la consommation WLTP ne peut \u00eatre atteinte qu\u2019en ayant une conduite anticipative, sans exploiter toute la puissance du v\u00e9hicule et sans effectuer des arr\u00eats photo avec phares allum\u00e9s (ce qui n\u2019est jamais le cas durant l\u2019int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 d\u2019un essai de deux semaines). En appliquant la m\u00eame conduite sur les m\u00eames itin\u00e9raires, la consommation de cet essai se serait probablement situ\u00e9e autour des 19 kWh\/100 km en \u00e9t\u00e9, soit une valeur environ 15 % inf\u00e9rieure <\/strong>(selon les \u00e9carts g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement observ\u00e9s avec les valeurs WLTP durant nos essais).<\/p>\n

Bien qu’il serait h\u00e2tif de tirer une conclusion sur la base d’un seul mod\u00e8le, il semble exag\u00e9r\u00e9 d\u2019affirmer que la consommation des voitures \u00e9lectriques \u00ab s\u2019envole \u00bb par temps froid. Tout du moins, ce n’est pas le qualificatif que m\u00e9rite la consommation de l’Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce en hiver.<\/p>\n

A noter encore que si une partie de la consommation sup\u00e9rieure observ\u00e9e en hiver est due \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9nergie n\u00e9cessaire pour chauffer l’habitacle et la batterie, une partie est due aussi \u00e0 la capacit\u00e9 de la batterie qui diminue avec le froid lorsqu’elle n’a pas encore atteint sa temp\u00e9rature optimale.
