Tout comme la Porsche Taycan Turbo\u00a0S n\u2019est pas propuls\u00e9e par un moteur turbocompress\u00e9, la Mercedes-AMG G\u00a063, contrairement \u00e0 ce que ses deux derniers chiffres laisseraient supposer, ne dispose pas d\u2019un moteur de 6,3\u00a0litres de cylindr\u00e9e. Il n\u2019en demeure pas moins que les appellations Turbo S<\/em> chez Porsche et 63<\/em> chez Mercedes sont synonymes de ce qui se fait de plus cher et de plus puissant chez ces deux constructeurs. Deux cases que notre G 63 d\u2019essai coche parfaitement avec un prix total de 273’800 francs et un moteur 4.0 litres biturbo qui d\u00e9veloppe la bagatelle de 605 ch!<\/p>\n Mais pour quoi donc Mercedes a-t-il choisi les deux chiffres 6 et 3 pour distinguer ses mod\u00e8les les plus chers et les plus puissants, tels que, pour ne citer que quatre exemples, la C\u00a063<\/a>, la GT\u00a063<\/a>, la SL 63 et la G 63 de notre essai? Tout simplement pour rendre hommage \u00e0 la Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3 d\u00e9voil\u00e9e en 1968. Celle-ci, avec son moteur de 6,3 litres de cylindr\u00e9e, \u00e9tait alors la berline la plus performante du march\u00e9 et \u00e9galement l\u2019une des plus ch\u00e8res puisqu\u2019elle co\u00fbtait pr\u00e8s du double d\u2019une Porsche 911. Avec ses 250 ch, pr\u00e8s du double ici aussi d\u2019une Porsche 911 qui en avait 130 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque, elle rivalisait, malgr\u00e9 ses 1800 kg, avec les meilleures GT. Et si la 911 pr\u00e9cit\u00e9e acc\u00e9l\u00e9rait de 0 \u00e0 100 km\/h en 9,1 secondes, la 300 SEL 6.3 accomplissait le m\u00eame exercice en 6,5 secondes!<\/p>\n Son importante garde au sol d\u2019au moins 241 mm et sa suspension \u00e0 grand d\u00e9battement en font un v\u00e9ritable tout-terrain. Dans les pentes raides, le couple du moteur fait des merveilles. On sent que l\u2019on dispose d\u2019une puissance qui permet d\u2019escalader des chemins escarp\u00e9s sans soucis. Les informations sur le nouveau cockpit offroad, telles que les inclinaisons de pentes, les angles, etc\u2026, sont \u00e0 la fois int\u00e9ressantes et utiles. foudroyantes \u00e9voqu\u00e9es au d\u00e9but de notre article. Elle t\u00e9moigne aussi d\u2019une belle facult\u00e9 d\u2019adaptation. Sur les routes de montagne, elle accuse certes un fort roulis qui n\u2019incite pas \u00e0 attaquer comme on le ferait par exemple au volant d’une AMG GT 63<\/a>. Son importante r\u00e9serve de puissance suffit toutefois largement \u00e0 d\u00e9passer les touristes, qui se lambinent sur nos cols, en moins de temps qu\u2019il ne le faut pour l\u2019\u00e9crire. Son moteur V8 biturbo de 605 ch (585 ch thermiques auxquels s\u2019ajoutent 20 ch issus d\u2019un dispositif de l\u00e9g\u00e8re hybridation) fait ainsi des merveilles avec son couple maximal de 850 Nm. Cela pour une consommation que l\u2019on peut qualifier de raisonnable si l\u2019on tient compte de la puissance, du poids de la b\u00eate \u2013 2640 kg tout de m\u00eame \u2013 et de ses lignes
