Apr\u00e8s notre premier contact avec la nouvelle Type R FL5<\/a> sur le circuit d\u2019Estoril en automne dernier, nous avons pris le volant de la plus raisonnable Civic e:HEV de 184 ch. Plus de 50 ans apr\u00e8s, la citadine \u00e0 3 portes de 3,3 m\u00e8tres n\u00e9e en 1972 semble bien loin, tant on constate \u2013 avec regret \u2013 que la Civic s\u2019est encore allong\u00e9e. Si cela a de quoi ravir les familles, force est d\u2019admettre qu\u2019une voiture mesurant d\u00e9sormais 4,55 m\u00e8tres ne peut plus vraiment \u00eatre qualifi\u00e9e de berline compacte… Si l\u2019ensemble a pris 4 cm, l\u2019emp\u00e2tement en a gagn\u00e9 3,5, ce qui b\u00e9n\u00e9fice naturellement \u00e0 l\u2019habitabilit\u00e9 qui se veut excellente. La hauteur a \u00e9t\u00e9 quant \u00e0 elle l\u00e9g\u00e8rement abaiss\u00e9e, alors que la ligne de toit plongeante \u00e9voque la silhouette des coup\u00e9s, p\u00e9jorant le volume du coffre qui est pass\u00e9 de 478 \u00e0 410 litres.<\/p>\n

En mati\u00e8re de style, cette nouvelle Civic \u00e0 l\u2019aspect sportif ne laisse pas indiff\u00e9rent, tout en proposant un design moins clivant que le mod\u00e8le pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent<\/a>. L\u2019avant int\u00e8gre une calandre \u00e0 motif en nid d\u2019abeille \u00e9vocatrice, entour\u00e9e par de larges optiques qui lui conf\u00e8rent un regard per\u00e7ant. A l\u2019arri\u00e8re, la hauteur du hayon et les feux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 abaiss\u00e9s par rapport au mod\u00e8le pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent.<\/p>\n

S’agissant d’un mod\u00e8le se revendiquant comme \u00e9tant sportif, il est curieux que l’\u00e9chappement ait \u00e9t\u00e9 dissimul\u00e9 derri\u00e8re le bouclier, alors que la Civic 1.5 VTEC Sport<\/a> l’exhibait sans complexe !<\/p>\n

Si l\u2019ouverture de la porte r\u00e9v\u00e8le la projection d\u2019un logo \u00ab Civic \u00bb au sol ainsi qu\u2019un seuil de porte illumin\u00e9, l\u2019int\u00e9rieur s\u2019av\u00e8re moins raffin\u00e9 ; certains plastiques et tissus sont peu valorisants. La disposition des commandes (majoritairement physiques) est convaincante, mais l\u2019ensemble ne respire pas la modernit\u00e9, \u00e0 l\u2019image de l\u2019\u00e9cran central, facile d\u2019utilisation mais \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sentation plut\u00f4t aust\u00e8re. Ce constat se poursuit en contemplant l\u2019instrumentation qui se compose d\u2019un \u00e9cran num\u00e9rique \u00e0 gauche, et d\u2019un compteur analogique de vitesse \u00e0 droite, peu utile en comparaison avec la flexibilit\u00e9 qu\u2019apporterait un \u00e9cran plus grand.<\/p>\n

Le freinage r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratif automatique est param\u00e9trable sur 4 niveaux via les palettes au volant, mais apr\u00e8s quelque secondes, la voiture reprend la main pour ne pas rester dans un mode de freinage trop marqu\u00e9, lequel augmenterait la consommation. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019en mode Sport que ce r\u00e9glage devient verrouillable, ce qui permet de garder la main sur une sorte de frein moteur plus ou moins prononc\u00e9 suivant l\u2019envie et la route emprunt\u00e9e. Car oui, m\u00eame en mode Sport, les palettes ne permettent pas de passer les rapports qui sont d\u2019ailleurs \u00ab simul\u00e9s \u00bb par la bo\u00eete e-CVT.<\/p>\n

Honda annonce une consommation de 5.1 l\/100km en cycle mixte sous la norme WLTP. En pratique, il faut plut\u00f4t compter environ 5,5 l\/100km en m\u00e9langeant tous types de routes.
