Cela fait pr\u00e8s de 50 ans que les deux lettres RS distinguent les Skoda les plus sportives. A l\u2019occasion de la pr\u00e9sentation de la nouvelle Fabia RS Rally2, Skoda nous a permis d\u2019essayer en R\u00e9publique tch\u00e8que plusieurs mod\u00e8les RS, depuis les Octavia RS et Fabia RS des ann\u00e9es 2000 jusqu\u2019au nouveau Enyaq Coup\u00e9 RS iV \u00e9lectrique. Nous avons \u00e9galement pu exp\u00e9rimenter ce que les copilotes de rallyes ressentent dans une voiture de course en nous laissant secouer comme une bouteille d\u2019Orangina aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des pilotes d\u2019usine Stanislav Kafka et Andreas Mikkelsen !<\/strong><\/p>\n

Le sport automobile fait partie int\u00e9grante de l\u2019ADN de Skoda. On en veut pour preuve le fait que les quatre derni\u00e8res \u00e9ditions du Rallye du Valais ont \u00e9t\u00e9 remport\u00e9es par une Fabia, en l\u2019occurrence celle de l\u2019Italien Giandomenico Basso en 2018, ainsi que celles des champions de Suisse Olivier Burri (2019) et Mike Coppens (2021 et 2022).<\/p>\n

Avant de s\u2019imposer au classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, la marque de Mlad\u00e1 Boleslav avait remport\u00e9 de nombreuses victoires de cat\u00e9gorie. En 1977, Vaclav Blahna, au volant d\u2019une Skoda 130 RS, avait termin\u00e9 le Rallye Monte-Carlo au 12\u00e8me rang du classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re place du groupe 2. Au Rallye du Valais de 1980, Svatopluk Kvaizar s\u2019\u00e9tait impos\u00e9 dans sa classe et avait men\u00e9 sa petite Skoda 130 RS de 1300 cm3 au 7\u00e8me rang du classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral devant, excusez du peu, la Porsche 911 de l\u2019ancien champion de Suisse Eric Chapuis et la Renault 5 Turbo de Philippe Roux !<\/p>\n

\u00ab Les Skoda 130 RS ont fait ainsi plusieurs fois honneur \u00e0 leur r\u00e9putation de Porsche de l\u2019Est \u00bb, nous explique Michal Velebn\u00fd, le responsable de l\u2019atelier de restauration du Mus\u00e9e Skoda \u00e0 Mlad\u00e1 Boleslav. Une r\u00e9putation qui aurait pu \u00eatre encore plus importante si la Skoda 200 RS avait \u00e9t\u00e9 construite en s\u00e9rie. Avec son moteur deux litres de 163 ch, la 200 RS n\u2019a en effet \u00e9t\u00e9 produite qu\u2019\u00e0 deux exemplaires. Aujourd\u2019hui, elle b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie aupr\u00e8s des passionn\u00e9s de Skoda d\u2019un statut similaire \u00e0 celui de la 911 2.7 RS chez Porsche, soit une voiture tellement d\u00e9sirable qu\u2019on en a construit plusieurs r\u00e9pliques. \u00ab Je connais au moins six r\u00e9pliques, dont deux en Allemagne \u00bb, pr\u00e9cise Michal Velebn\u00fd. \u00ab Les deux que nous avons emmen\u00e9es ici sont cependant les deux voitures originales de 1974 \u00bb, ajoute-t-il.<\/p>\n

Avec son toit rabaiss\u00e9, ses ailes \u00e9largies et ses six phares suppl\u00e9mentaires, la Skoda 200 RS est une vraie b\u00eate de course. Cela se confirme \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur o\u00f9 tout ce qui n\u2019est pas indispensable a \u00e9t\u00e9 enlev\u00e9 pour gagner du poids. Nous prenons place \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 du pilote tch\u00e8que Stanislav Kafka sur une route de rallye ferm\u00e9e \u00e0 la circulation et constatons que la l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 du v\u00e9hicule constitue son principal atout. Ses 163 ch n\u2019ont en effet aucune peine \u00e0 d\u00e9placer ses 850 kg dans un boucan d\u2019enfer !<\/p>\n

Pour une voiture de 1974, la Skoda 200 RS a incontestablement de beaux restes. Ceux-ci ne soutiennent cependant pas la comparaison avec la nouvelle Fabia RS Rally2 \u00e0 bord de laquelle nous nous installons \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 du champion norv\u00e9gien Andreas Mikkelsen. Le paysage d\u00e9file au moins trois fois plus vite. Les 289 ch sont parfaitement transmis au sol par les quatre roues motrices et la voiture bondit d\u2019un virage \u00e0 l\u2019autre comme un boulet de canon ! Evoqu\u00e9e en introduction, la m\u00e9taphore de la bouteille d\u2019Orangina secou\u00e9e de toutes parts est pour le moins explicite !
