Le ciel, teint\u00e9 de rose, illumine faiblement la nuit qui s\u2019appr\u00eate \u00e0 tomber. Nous distinguons \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re-plan un impressionnant virage sur\u00e9lev\u00e9 d\u2019o\u00f9 jaillissent trois silhouettes furtives. Il s\u2019agit des trois nouvelles Cupra qui f\u00eatent leur premi\u00e8re mondiale devant 300 invit\u00e9s sur le circuit de Terramar. La voiture de t\u00eate est la Cupra UrbanRebel, une citadine \u00e9lectrique. Elle pr\u00e9c\u00e8de le Cupra Tavascan, un SUV Coup\u00e9 \u00e0 quatre portes, \u00e9lectrique lui aussi, ainsi que le Cupra Terramar, un SUV hybride qui ressemble \u00e0 s\u2019y m\u00e9prendre \u00e0 un Porsche Macan<\/a>. Ces trois mod\u00e8les ne seront commercialis\u00e9s, au plus t\u00f4t, que dans deux ans.<\/strong><\/p>\n Sant Pere de Ribes, \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de Sitges, au sud de Barcelone. Nous nous trouvons \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de l\u2019autoroute Barcelone-Tarragone, dans un champ d\u2019oliviers comme il y en a des milliers d\u2019autres dans la r\u00e9gion. L\u2019endroit semble ainsi plut\u00f4t banal. Il n\u2019en est cependant rien. Ce circuit n\u2019a accueilli qu\u2019une seule course d\u2019envergure, le 28 octobre 1923, avant de faire faillite. Les travaux hercul\u00e9ens n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 sa construction co\u00fbt\u00e8rent en effet beaucoup trop d\u2019argent et le circuit tomba dans l\u2019oubli jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que les dirigeants de Seat en firent, il y a quatre ans, le lieu embl\u00e9matique du lancement de la marque Cupra<\/a>.<\/p>\n Et le 7 juin dernier, ce circuit de Terramar a \u00e9t\u00e9 le th\u00e9\u00e2tre de la pr\u00e9sentation en premi\u00e8re mondiale de trois futurs mod\u00e8les, dont le Cupra Terramar, le premier qui nous a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9voil\u00e9 par le tr\u00e8s talentueux designer Jorge Diez. Celui-ci a longtemps travaill\u00e9 avec Walter De Silva chez Audi et on lui doit notamment les lignes, tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussies, de la deuxi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de l\u2019Audi TT.<\/p>\n Ses lignes \u00e9voquent quelque peu celles des Porsche Cayenne et Macan. Elles ont en tout cas beaucoup plu au CEO de Porsche, Oliver Blume, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 Mark Porsche, Stefan Pi\u00ebch et Hans-Michel Pi\u00ebch qui si\u00e8gent tous les quatre au comit\u00e9 directeur de Seat. Leurs sourires en disaient en effet long sur leur satisfaction, surtout ceux des trois descendants de Ferdinand Porsche que sont Mark Porsche, Stefan Pi\u00ebch et Hans-Michel Pi\u00ebch.
