L\u2019essai de notre DS 7 Crossback E-Tense 4×4 de 300 ch a co\u00efncid\u00e9 avec la conqu\u00eate d\u2019un second titre cons\u00e9cutif par DS Automobiles en Formule E, comp\u00e9tition r\u00e9serv\u00e9e aux monoplaces \u00e9lectriques qui a permis au constructeur fran\u00e7ais de battre Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes et Porsche. Cette DS 7 de 300 ch est par ailleurs la voiture de fonction d\u2019Antonio Felix da Costa et de Jean-Eric Vergne, les deux pilotes de DS Automobiles qui se sont impos\u00e9s dans le championnat des pilotes en Formule E au cours de ces trois derni\u00e8res saisons, le Portugais s\u2019\u00e9tant adjug\u00e9 le titre cette ann\u00e9e, alors que le Fran\u00e7ais en avait fait de m\u00eame en 2019 et en 2018.<\/p>\n

Comme nous l\u2019avions relev\u00e9 il y a deux ans<\/a>, la DS 7 est la premi\u00e8re DS \u00e0 ne pas \u00eatre d\u00e9riv\u00e9e d\u2019un mod\u00e8le Citro\u00ebn. Elle doit permettre au groupe PSA de se faire une place au soleil dans le segment premium. Cela un peu de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re que le groupe Volkswagen l\u2019a fait avec Audi pour concurrencer BMW et Mercedes. Tout comme Audi, dont le virage premium a pris une tournure d\u00e9cisive avec les victoires en rallye de l\u2019Audi Quattro, DS Automobiles entend s\u2019appuyer sur son engagement en comp\u00e9tition, en l\u2019occurrence en Formule E, afin d\u2019accro\u00eetre aussi bien sa notori\u00e9t\u00e9 que son expertise en mati\u00e8re de motorisations \u00e9lectriques.<\/p>\n

Au niveau des lignes, force est de constater que celles de la DS et de la SM poss\u00e8dent davantage de personnalit\u00e9. La face avant de la DS 7 Crossback ne manque toutefois pas de noblesse. La calandre hexagonale encadre ainsi un dessin de grille \u00e0 effet diamant et ses feux, tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussis, font penser \u00e0 ceux de la Bugatti Chiron.<\/a><\/p>\n

Depuis la cr\u00e9ation de DS Automobiles, la signature lumineuse a toujours fait l\u2019objet d\u2019une attention particuli\u00e8re. Facett\u00e9s comme des pi\u00e8ces de joaillerie, les feux de la DS 7 Crossback s\u2019illuminent, d\u00e8s le d\u00e9verrouillage de la voiture, d\u2019une lumi\u00e8re pourpre puis pivotent \u00e0 180 degr\u00e9s. Le dessin des feux diurnes, verticaux, rappelle quant \u00e0 lui un collier de perles !<\/p>\n

Le couvercle de la bo\u00eete \u00e0 gants en plastique trop l\u00e9ger \u00e0 notre go\u00fbt et des charni\u00e8res de porte moins bien soign\u00e9es que celles des rivales allemandes sont deux d\u00e9tails qui d\u00e9teignent sur l\u2019excellente impression de qualit\u00e9 per\u00e7ue. Notamment au niveau du tableau de bord, personnalisable \u00e0 souhait, et des si\u00e8ges, tr\u00e8s confortables et dont l\u2019inclinaison peut \u00eatre r\u00e9gl\u00e9e \u00e9lectriquement aussi \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

Le temps est venu de mettre en marche \u00ab notre \u00bb DS 7 E-Tense. Pour cela, il faut appuyer sur le d\u00e9marreur plac\u00e9 au milieu du tableau de bord, une action qui fait surgir, par rotation, une montre B.R.M. pour le moins originale. Ce ballet m\u00e9canique n\u2019est pas sans rappeler celui du tableau de bord rotatif de la r\u00e9cente Bentley Continental GT<\/a>. Une comparaison os\u00e9e\u00a0? Pas tant que cela car c\u2019est un silence pratiquement identique qui accompagne la mise en marche de la DS 7 E-Tense.<\/p>\n

En pratique, nous n\u2019aurons d\u00e9pass\u00e9 les 50 km que sur des parcours dont le point d\u2019arriv\u00e9e se situe \u00e0 une altitude inf\u00e9rieure d\u2019environ 300m \u00e0 celle du point de d\u00e9part. Dommage qu\u2019il ne soit pas possible d\u2019utiliser les palettes pour g\u00e9rer le freinage r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratif, ce dernier s\u2019activant uniquement par l\u2019interm\u00e9diaire du s\u00e9lecteur de bo\u00eete (mode B au lieu de D par d\u00e9faut).<\/p>\n

On rel\u00e8vera cependant que si le mode Sport garantit de bonnes relances, le comportement de la DS 7 ne s\u2019av\u00e8re pas sportif. On ne peut que le regretter car la Suisse, pays montagneux par excellence, regorge de trac\u00e9s sinueux sur lesquels le plaisir de conduire ne devrait pas \u00eatre mis en veilleuse par des suspensions trop molles. On le regrettera d\u2019autant plus que DS Automobiles sait construire des voitures sportives. Ses succ\u00e8s en Formule E et sa DS 3 Performance<\/a> l\u2019ont largement d\u00e9montr\u00e9. Le constat est identique au niveau de la bo\u00eete automatique \u00e0 8 rapports qui ne brille pas par sa r\u00e9activit\u00e9. Et m\u00eame en utilisant les palettes, la voiture reprend automatiquement la main apr\u00e8s quelques secondes.<\/p>\n

Avec sa DS 7 Crossback E-Tense 4×4, DS Automobiles dispose d\u00e9sormais d\u2019arguments plus solides pour se tailler une part du g\u00e2teau premium face aux Allemandes. La qualit\u00e9 per\u00e7ue et le \u00ab luxe \u00e0 la fran\u00e7aise \u00bb \u00e9taient certes d\u00e9j\u00e0 au rendez-vous jusqu\u2019ici, mais la DS7 Crossback la plus puissante devait se contenter des 225 ch de son 4 cylindres de 1,6L. Bien qu\u2019il lui manque encore un comportement dynamique plus aff\u00fbt\u00e9, l\u2019arriv\u00e9e de l\u2019hybridation lui a permis d\u2019atteindre le cap des 300 ch, de disposer d\u2019une traction int\u00e9grale et de pouvoir rouler en mode 100% \u00e9lectrique sur une cinquantaine de kilom\u00e8tres. <\/strong><\/p>\n
