C\u2019est au salon International de l\u2019automobile de Gen\u00e8ve, en mars 2007, qu\u2019Audi a lanc\u00e9 sur le march\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re version de son coup\u00e9 A5. N\u00e9 sous le crayon du designer italien Walter de Silva, sa silhouette rencontra tout de suite un grand succ\u00e8s. Je me souviens tr\u00e8s bien \u00eatre tomb\u00e9 litt\u00e9ralement amoureux des courbes de ce coup\u00e9 \u00e9l\u00e9gant et rac\u00e9, au point que plusieurs A5 se sont succ\u00e9d\u00e9es dans mon garage. Ce n\u2019est que quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard qu\u2019une version Sportback, avec 4 portes et hayon a fait son apparition. Il en va de m\u00eame dans la gamme sportive RS. Propos\u00e9e en coup\u00e9 depuis 2010, la RS5 en est d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e0 sa deuxi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration alors qu\u2019Audi propose la variante Sportback seulement depuis 2019.<\/p>\n

Si je suis un admirateur inconditionnel de l\u2019esth\u00e9tique du coup\u00e9 A5, j\u2019ai jusqu\u2019ici \u00e9t\u00e9 moins convaincu par les versions Sportback qui, selon ma femme, s\u2019adressent aux hommes (ou femmes) qui r\u00eavent d\u2019un coup\u00e9 mais qui ne l\u2019assument pas\u00a0! Cependant, je dois bien avouer que la version Sportback de l\u2019Audi RS5 est une grande r\u00e9ussite. J\u2019y retrouve les fameuses lignes, sous forme de vagues, parcourant toute la caisse des optiques avant aux feux arri\u00e8re. Audi connait sa partition, cela fait maintenant 25 ans que le constructeur d\u2019Ingolstadt nous propose des versions RS d\u00e9riv\u00e9es de ses mod\u00e8les de bases. Un design r\u00e9solument sportif et rac\u00e9 mais conservant cette \u00e9l\u00e9gance distingu\u00e9e. Tous les ingr\u00e9dients RS sont pr\u00e9sents sur la RS5 Sportback\u00a0: passages de roues \u00e9largis de 15mm, imposant bouclier avant en nid d\u2019abeille abordant fi\u00e8rement le logo Quattro, diffuseur arri\u00e8re int\u00e9grant deux grandes sorties d\u2019\u00e9chappement ovales, discret spoiler pos\u00e9 sur le hayon, jantes surdimensionn\u00e9es… Le summum, si vous en voulez encore plus, est d\u2019opter pour le pack \u00ab Optique Carbone et Alu mat \u00bb (CHF 5\u2019200.-), comme sur notre mod\u00e8le d\u2019essai.<\/p>\n

Par contre, une fois ce seuil pass\u00e9, les chevaux se manifestent avec passion. Si, l\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur plus direct, la direction plus ferme et les passages de rapports \u00e0 la limite de la zone rouge sont un vrai bonheur, le ch\u00e2ssis devient si ferme que cela devient d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able sur certaines routes.
