La derni\u00e8re Lexus que j\u2019ai conduite<\/a> ne m\u2019avait pas laiss\u00e9 un souvenir imp\u00e9rissable. La bo\u00eete de vitesses \u00e0 variation continue, avec son Joystick fa\u00e7on Toyota Prius, y \u00e9tait pour beaucoup. Mais lorsque que le test de la RC F Track Edition s\u2019est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9, je ne me suis pas fait prier pour m\u2019en occuper. Ne dit-on pas qu\u2019il ne faut jamais rester sur une mauvaise impression ? Alors, voyons cette RC F Track Edition de plus pr\u00e8s…\u00a0<\/p>\n

La version 2019 de la Lexus RC F a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e en premi\u00e8re mondiale au salon de Detroit. Les optiques int\u00e8grent d\u00e9sormais les feux de jour et les pare-chocs sont redessin\u00e9s, tout comme les feux arri\u00e8re. La marque nippone a profit\u00e9 de ce restylage pour sortir une s\u00e9rie sp\u00e9ciale : la Track Edition. Ses principales caract\u00e9ristiques : capot et toit en carbone, tout comme la lame avant, le diffuseur, ainsi que l\u2019aileron fixe, qui remplace ici la version mobile. Cet amaigrissement compense les 14 ch (463 contre 477 chevaux) et 20 Nm perdus pour satisfaire aux normes de pollution. Concr\u00e8tement, cela lui permet de gagner 80kg, mais elle affiche tout de m\u00eame 1\u2019745 kg sur nos balances avec le plein.<\/p>\n

Niveau multim\u00e9dia, on trouve un \u00e9cran central qui, contrairement \u00e0 la mode actuelle, est \u00e9loign\u00e9 du conducteur. Il se commande par un pad tactile positionn\u00e9 en prolongement de l\u2019accoudoir. Si sa position est id\u00e9ale, le feeling g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 est moins bon qu\u2019avec une molette fa\u00e7on Audi par exemple. Son utilisation est intuitive pour parcourir les menus, mais il est difficile de rentrer rapidement une destination dans le GPS.<\/p>\n

Prenons maintenant place \u00e0 bord. Pour \u00eatre \u00e0 bord d’un coup\u00e9, la visibilit\u00e9 p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique est excellente. La position du frein de stationnement, au pied, est un peu d\u00e9concertante, et pourra g\u00eaner les grands gabarits. C\u2019est bien la premi\u00e8re fois que j\u2019aurais pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 un frein \u00e0 main \u00e9lectrique. Pression sur le bouton Start, et le V8 de 5,0L se fait entendre. Mais alors tr\u00e8s timidement !<\/p>\n

N\u2019ayant pas obtenu l\u2019autorisation d\u2019emmener cette Lexus sur circuit, elle deviendra le temps d\u2019un essai, la Swiss Alpin Pass Edition. Au programme, une journ\u00e9e \u00e0 parcourir les plus beaux cols de Suisse : Nufenen, Gothard, Susten puis Grimsel. C\u2019est donc de bon matin, accompagn\u00e9 d\u2019un ami en Porsche 997 GT3, que nous partons pour une petite ballade de 400 km.<\/p>\n

Les kilom\u00e8tres qui nous s\u00e9parent du haut-valais ne sont pas les plus passionnants. Ce trajet est constitu\u00e9 en bonne partie d\u2019autoroute, parfois limit\u00e9 \u00e0 80 km\/h pour cause de travaux. En mode Eco, la consommation moyenne est de 9.8 l\/100km sur un m\u00e9lange d\u2019autoroute et de routes cantonales entrecoup\u00e9es de quelques jonctions. Pas tr\u00e8s Eco, mais pas surprenant compte tenu de la cylindr\u00e9e de l\u2019engin.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s un peu plus de 90 minutes, nous arrivons au d\u00e9part du col du Nufenen, qui va nous emmener au Tessin. Cette mont\u00e9e constitue une excellente mise en jambe, avec son parcours roulant ponctu\u00e9 de quelques \u00e9pingles serr\u00e9es avant l\u2019arriv\u00e9e au col. Celles-ci mettent en lumi\u00e8re le manque de motricit\u00e9 de l\u2019essieux arri\u00e8re lorsque la roue int\u00e9rieure se d\u00e9leste. Malgr\u00e9 la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un diff\u00e9rentiel \u00e0 glissement limit\u00e9 de type Torsen, il n\u2019est pas facile de passer ces \u00e9pingles de mani\u00e8re r\u00e9guli\u00e8re, parfois l\u2019arri\u00e8re survirant proprement, parfois seule la roue int\u00e9rieure laissant sa trace. Sur cette route, le syst\u00e8me de vectorisation du couple param\u00e9trable de la RC F \u00ab normale \u00bb aurait certainement fait mieux.<\/p>\n

Autre probl\u00e8me, l\u2019\u00e9tagement long de la bo\u00eete automatique conjugu\u00e9 au faible couple du moteur dans les bas r\u00e9gimes ne font pas bon m\u00e9nage avec cette route tortueuse. Je suis chaque fois oblig\u00e9 de s\u00e9lectionner le premier rapport pour ressortir convenablement d\u2019une \u00e9pingle. A l\u2019heure du caf\u00e9, au sommet, les premi\u00e8res impressions sont plut\u00f4t mitig\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

S\u2019en suit la descente sur Airolo. Et l\u00e0, le gros point fort de cette RC F Track Edition est mis en valeur : son freinage. S\u2019il y a bien un point sur lequel je suis intransigeant, c\u2019est bien celui-l\u00e0. Quel plaisir de pouvoir attaquer de longues descentes sans voir la course de la p\u00e9dale s\u2019allonger. L\u2019excellent amortissement, la faible prise de roulis, et le grip procur\u00e9 par les imposants Michelin ne font qu\u2019ajouter une bonne dose de plaisir.<\/p>\n

Prochaine \u00e9tape : la mont\u00e9e du col du Gothard par l\u2019ancienne route, la Tremola. Sa premi\u00e8re partie alterne les portions d\u2019asphalte avec les portions pav\u00e9es. Pas forc\u00e9ment la plus int\u00e9ressante. Mais lorsque la route devient couverte de pav\u00e9s, le faible grip prodigu\u00e9 par ceux-ci met en exergue le comportement survireur de cette propulsion. Les courbes se passent comme sur la neige, un vrai d\u00e9lice.<\/p>\n

La descente sur Uri ressemble \u00e0 une autoroute compar\u00e9e \u00e0 la Tremola. Elle nous emm\u00e8ne direction le col du Susten. Ses encha\u00eenements de courbes rapides nous font rejoindre le canton de Berne, ou une deuxi\u00e8me pause s\u2019impose. La descente du Susten nous offre des panoramas \u00e0 couper le souffle. Enfin, une halte d\u00eenatoire au sommet du Grimsel, avant la derni\u00e8re descente, nous offre une vue imprenable sur le col de la Furka.<\/p>\n

L\u2019occasion de faire le point sur cette formidable auto qui, malgr\u00e9 son appellation, reste n\u00e9anmoins plus dans l\u2019esprit GT que dans l\u2019esprit d\u2019une vraie pistarde, laquelle serait sans doute plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re et dot\u00e9e d\u2019un arceau de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p>\n
