Au premier contact visuel, nul doute que nous avons bien affaire \u00e0 deux petites sportives. Mais les deux voitures ne misent pas sur les m\u00eames attributs pour attirer l\u2019attention. La Suzuki se pare de jantes 17\u2019 sp\u00e9cifiques, mais se contente de pneus de 195 mm de largeur, alors que l\u2019Opel mise sur des jantes 18\u2019 (CHF 800.-) plus \u00e9vocatrices munies de pneus de 225 mm. Une diff\u00e9rence visuelle qui se ressentira \u00e9galement sur la route. A l\u2019arri\u00e8re, l\u2019Opel re\u00e7oit un g\u00e9n\u00e9reux spoiler de toit, alors que la Suzuki mise surtout sur son diffuseur qui entoure une double sortie d\u2019\u00e9chappement du plus bel effet, avec une d\u00e9coration fa\u00e7on carbone que l\u2019on retrouve \u00e9galement sur les jupes lat\u00e9rales et la lame avant. \u00c7a en jette !<\/p>\n

Les si\u00e8ges procurent un bon maintient dans les deux voitures, mais l\u2019Opel a l\u2019avantage de mieux s\u2019adapter aux grands gabarits, son p\u00e9dalier \u00e9tant situ\u00e9 plus en profondeur. La position de conduite dans la Suzuki est plus assise et donne l\u2019impression d\u2019\u00eatre plus haut, et son accoudoir central optionnel (CHF 280.-) est tr\u00e8s g\u00eanant pour passer les rapports. Un dispositif dont n\u2019est pas \u00e9quip\u00e9e l’allemande, qui re\u00e7oit de superbes si\u00e8ges Recaro (cuir en option).<\/p>\n

L\u2019Opel Corsa GSi prend aussi le pas dans ce chapitre en proposant une ergonomie en ad\u00e9quation avec le reste de la gamme Opel\u00a0: logique et efficace \u00e0 l\u2019usage. La Suzuki Swift Sport demande un plus grand temps d\u2019adaptation, ne propose pas d\u2019affichage num\u00e9rique de la vitesse, et impose de r\u00e9gler ind\u00e9pendamment les param\u00e8tres de l\u2019ordinateur de bord et de l\u2019\u00e9cran multim\u00e9dia (double r\u00e9glage de l\u2019heure et de la langue). Un peu r\u00e9barbatif \u00e0 notre \u00e9poque. Les finitions sont \u00e9galement \u00e0 l\u2019avantage de l\u2019allemande qui se veut plus chic, mais qui perd le dernier point d\u00fb \u00e0 son GPS peu pratique \u00e0 utiliser.<\/p>\n

Les deux autos sont d\u00e9pourvues de modes de conduite. Mais la Swift Sport prend un l\u00e9ger avantage de par son ESP d\u00e9sactivable via un bouton. L\u2019Opel elle, ne permet pas de d\u00e9sactiver l\u2019ESP, ni m\u00eame de le mettre en mode \u00ab Sport \u00bb. Toutefois, celui-ci se montre discret et ne nous a pas emp\u00each\u00e9 d\u2019exploiter pleinement son potentiel. Mais il aurait pu en \u00eatre autrement sur la neige ou sur circuit.<\/p>\n

La position de la ceinture de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, tr\u00e8s en arri\u00e8re dans l\u2019Opel, est g\u00eanante, mieux vaut s\u2019habituer \u00e0 aller la chercher avec la main gauche en entrant dans la voiture. Le rayon de braquage est \u00e9galement en faveur de la japonaise. Au niveau des coffres, l\u00e9ger avantage \u00e0 l’Opel qui cube 285 litres contre 265 pour la Suzuki.<\/p>\n

Aucune variation de la sonorit\u00e9 sur les deux voitures. L\u2019Opel est trop discr\u00e8te pour une sportive et le timbre de son 4 cylindres n\u2019est pas tr\u00e8s plaisant. A c\u00f4t\u00e9, la Suzuki revendique son caract\u00e8re de petite boule de nerfs en donnant de la voix, particuli\u00e8rement \u00e0 hauts r\u00e9gimes. Son timbre n\u2019est pas non plus g\u00e9nial, mais suffisamment \u00e9vocateur pour une petite sportive de cette cat\u00e9gorie.<\/p>\n

Le ch\u00e2ssis de l\u2019Opel est nettement plus ferme que celui de la Suzuki, mais cette derni\u00e8re n\u2019est pas plus confortable pour autant. L\u2019allemande est donc plus souveraine en courbe, vire quasiment \u00e0 plat, affiche un bel \u00e9quilibre et convainc par son train avant pr\u00e9cis et mordant. Aux limites, la Suzuki est plus approximative. D\u2019un autre c\u00f4t\u00e9, on la per\u00e7oit rapidement comme \u00e9tant plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re, ce qui la rend particuli\u00e8rement maniable et amusante dans les virages serr\u00e9s. Mais d\u00e8s qu\u2019il faut acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer en courbe, elle est p\u00e9nalis\u00e9e par sa monte pneumatique de 195 mm, trop \u00e9troite pour faire passer sereinement ses 230 Nm de couple au sol, alors que l\u2019Opel est imperturbable.<\/p>\n

Bien qu\u2019elles re\u00e7oivent les deux le m\u00eame nombre de points, elles sont loin de faire jeux \u00e9gal dans ce chapitre. Tout aurait pu \u00eatre parfait dans la Suzuki sans cet accoudoir central g\u00eanant pour passer les rapports ainsi qu\u2019avec une commande de bo\u00eete plus pr\u00e9cise. Sur ce point, la Corsa GSi n\u2019a rien \u00e0 se reprocher. En revanche, au niveau de l\u2019agr\u00e9ment moteur, c\u2019est l\u2019inverse. Face \u00e0 la Suzuki, la Corsa GSi manque cruellement de couple aux r\u00e9gimes inf\u00e9rieures, alors que la Swift Sport impressionne pour ne disposer que de 140 chevaux. Les chiffres le confirment : 230 Nm d\u00e8s 2\u2019500 trs\/min pour la Swift Sport, contre 220 Nm d\u00e8s 3\u2019000 trs\/min pour la Corsa GSi, qui de sucro\u00eet, tra\u00eene 200 kg de plus. En haut du compte-tours, la tendance s\u2019inverse : ce sont les 150 chevaux de l\u2019allemande qui sont les plus alertes.<\/p>\n

Sur le plan comptable, la Suzuki Swift Sport s\u2019impose d\u2019une courte paille face \u00e0 l\u2019Opel Corsa GSi. Et sur le plan \u00e9motionnel ? Bien qu\u2019imparfaite dans son comportement, notre c\u0153ur pencherait \u00e9galement pour la Japonaise pour son c\u00f4t\u00e9 \u00ab light is right \u00bb et son moteur plus p\u00eachu. On regrette cependant qu\u2019elle ne b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie pas d\u2019une monte pneumatique, d\u2019un ch\u00e2ssis et d\u2019une commande de bo\u00eete plus sportifs. Sur ces points, l\u2019Allemande ne pr\u00eate pas \u00e0 la critique et s\u2019affichera comme le choix de ceux qui privil\u00e9gient l\u2019efficacit\u00e9, l\u2019ergonomie et la finition. Ce qui lui a manqu\u00e9 pour s\u2019imposer ? Un moteur plus caract\u00e9riel et plus sonore ainsi qu\u2019un tarif un peu plus doux. A titre de comparaison, affich\u00e9e \u00e0 CHF 26’700.- hors options, la nouvelle Ford Fiesta ST de 200ch<\/a> aurait sans doute mis nos deux concurrentes du jour au tapis dans plusieurs chapitres. Mais \u00e7a, c\u2019est encore un autre d\u00e9bat\u00a0!<\/strong><\/p>\n
