\nAu premier regard, la nouvelle Megane RS se veut plus agressive que son a\u00een\u00e9e. Au niveau de la forme globale, cette derni\u00e8re en reprend les grandes lignes tout en innovant sur certains points, mais perd en charme avec cette g\u00e9n\u00e9ration uniquement propos\u00e9e en 5 portes, ce qui est toutefois un argument de vente. Un travail cons\u00e9quent a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 sur la signature lumineuse de l\u2019auto. La barre lumineuse de sa face arri\u00e8re est bien int\u00e9gr\u00e9e, prolongeant ainsi des optiques l\u00e9g\u00e8rement creus\u00e9es. L\u2019objectif est simple\u00a0: se distinguer de la concurrence dans un segment o\u00f9 les codes sont quasiment dict\u00e9s. Ailes \u00e9largies, ou\u00efes d\u2019entr\u00e9e d\u2019air, \u00e9chappement central, lame \u00ab\u00a0F1\u00a0\u00bb, la nouvelle Megane 4 RS est l\u00e0 pour affirmer sa sportivit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\nBien install\u00e9 dans un semi-baquet enti\u00e8rement recouvert d\u2019alcantara (CHF 1’800.-), je contemple la planche de bord tr\u00e8s \u00e9pur\u00e9e et minimaliste. Globalement, l\u2019ensemble est sobre et classique. La console centrale est surmont\u00e9e d\u2019un \u00e9cran tactile vertical qui se marie bien avec les lignes g\u00e9n\u00e9rales. Le tableau de bord propose un affichage digital central pour le tachym\u00e8tre, laissant la possibilit\u00e9 de personnalisation au conducteur. Pour le reste, l\u2019int\u00e9rieur est constitu\u00e9 de plastiques assez bon march\u00e9, except\u00e9 l\u2019habillage de levier de vitesse et le frein \u00e0 main qui reste m\u00e9canique pour le coup (au grand plaisir des puristes). Ce dernier est mal implant\u00e9 dans la console centrale car positionn\u00e9 trop haut et trop proche du levier de vitesse, mais on arrive \u00e0 s\u2019y habituer avec le temps.<\/p>\n

\nSeuils de portes, p\u00e9dalier et levier de vitesse en alu, logo \u00ab\u00a0R.S.\u00a0\u00bb sur le volant et les si\u00e8ges am\u00e8nent un peu de sportivit\u00e9 \u00e0 cet habitacle qui reprend les codes de la Megane. Pour diriger la b\u00eate, le volant sport \u00e0 trois branches en cuir et alcantara (CHF 400.-) \u00e0 rep\u00e8re central est id\u00e9al et offre un bon maintien. Les petits plus sur notre version d\u2019essai et pour cette cat\u00e9gorie de v\u00e9hicules sont l\u2019affichage t\u00eate haute (CHF 400.-) et le syst\u00e8me son NAV 8.7 Bose (CHF 1’500.-), ins\u00e9r\u00e9 au centre de la planche de bord et dans les porti\u00e8res. Ces derni\u00e8res nous laisseront un peu sur notre faim avec leur habillage en plastique mou simili carbone.<\/p>\n

Passons aux choses s\u00e9rieuses \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent. Techniquement, la nouvelle Renault Megane RS affiche une puissance de 280 ch pour un couple maximum de 390Nm d\u00e9livr\u00e9 \u00e0 2\u2019400 trs\/min. Sur le papier, elle se place ainsi juste devant la Peugeot 308 GTi<\/a> (263 ch) et la Hyundai i30 N<\/a> (275 ch), mais derri\u00e8re la redoutable Honda Civic Type R FK8<\/a> (320 ch) ou encore la Seat Leon Cupra R<\/a> (310 ch). Un bon bout d\u2019autoroute m\u2019attend pour rentrer \u00e0 mon domicile. Je profite de ce temps libre pour d\u00e9couvrir les fonctionnalit\u00e9s qu\u2019offre la voiture. L\u2019interface de l\u2019\u00e9cran tactile me semble parfois un peu difficile \u00e0 manier en conduisant, mais les menus restent simples et didactiques.<\/p>\n

La Renault Megane RS se veut assez dure dans son amortissement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Pas \u00e9tonnant lorsque l\u2019on sait que notre voiture d\u2019essai est \u00e9quip\u00e9e du pack Cup (CHF 1\u2019950.-) qui raffermit les amortisseurs de 10%, rabaisse la hauteur de caisse de 2 mm et ajoute un diff\u00e9rentiel m\u00e9canique \u00e0 glissement limit\u00e9 Torsen. Tant pis pour mes lombaires, les longs trajets n\u2019\u00e9tant clairement pas ma priorit\u00e9 lors de cet essai. En arrivant chez moi, j\u2019aper\u00e7ois un bouton qui m\u2019interpelle, ce dernier \u00e9tant celui du Park Assist (CHF 750.-). Le syst\u00e8me est simple d\u2019utilisation mais perfectible. De plus, sur une version \u00e9quip\u00e9e de la bo\u00eete m\u00e9canique, ce dernier devient d\u00e9licat \u00e0 manipuler lorsque l\u2019espace est restreint.<\/p>\n

Avant de fermer l\u2019\u0153il sur cette berline compacte, je regarde une derni\u00e8re fois le tableau de bord qui m\u2019annonce 7,5 l\/100km de consommation moyenne, ce qui est plut\u00f4t r\u00e9jouissant m\u00eame en ayant fait principalement de l\u2019autoroute.<\/p>\n

\nLe lendemain, je planifie un itin\u00e9raire vari\u00e9 afin de pouvoir tirer le meilleur parti de l\u2019auto. Avant de me lancer dans ma balade, je prends garde d\u2019activer le R.S. Monitor (CHF 400.-), qui sera un petit plus sur mon trajet du jour. En effet, ce dernier permet d\u2019afficher une panoplie de t\u00e9l\u00e9m\u00e9tries compl\u00e8tes. Pour les plus pistards d\u2019entre nous, cette option s\u2019av\u00e8re tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante puisqu\u2019elle met \u00e0 disposition un chronom\u00e8tre, des temps partiels et bien d\u2019autres donn\u00e9es instantan\u00e9es telles que la position du centre de masse, les G, la puissance, l’angle du volant ainsi que diff\u00e9rents manom\u00e8tres. Mode \u00ab\u00a0Sport\u00a0\u00bb activ\u00e9, la direction devient l\u00e9g\u00e8rement plus ferme, pr\u00e9cise et la voiture d\u00e9livre \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent toute sa puissance.<\/p>\n

La route \u00e9tant d\u00e9gag\u00e9e, je commence \u00e0 attaquer. Les mont\u00e9es en r\u00e9gime sont assez lin\u00e9aires. Le moteur est rageur et affirme son temp\u00e9rament, mais il n\u2019est pas n\u00e9cessaire de le pousser jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la zone rouge, ce dernier donnant l\u2019impression de s\u2019essouffler \u00e0 l\u2019approche du rupteur. Les premi\u00e8res courbes se dessinent devant mon pare-brise et l\u2019auto fait preuve d\u2019une grande agilit\u00e9 et stabilit\u00e9 en virage rapide. Cette troisi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de Megane RS est en effet \u00e9quip\u00e9e du syst\u00e8me 4Control d\u00e9j\u00e0 rencontr\u00e9 sur la Renault Megane GT<\/a> essay\u00e9e l\u2019hiver pass\u00e9. En-dessous de 60 km\/h (et 100 km\/h en mode \u00ab Race \u00bb), les roues arri\u00e8re tournent dans le sens oppos\u00e9 des roues avant jusqu\u2019\u00e0 un angle de 2,7 degr\u00e9s. L\u2019action inverse est effectu\u00e9e au-dessus de 60 km\/h mais cette fois-ci avec un angle maximum de 1 degr\u00e9. Cela para\u00eet minime sur le papier mais au volant, on retrouve une direction plus incisive et pr\u00e9cise dans les passages en courbes (soit en-dessous de 60 km\/h ou 100 km\/h), alors que la stabilit\u00e9 est accrue \u00e0 hautes vitesses.<\/p>\n

Au freinage, la voiture se place comme je le souhaite sur le train avant et offre un tr\u00e8s bon feeling. Les disques bi-mati\u00e8re (CHF 1’250.-) de 355 mm et les \u00e9triers Brembo rouge \u00e0 l\u2019avant offrent un bon mordant et semblent tr\u00e8s endurants. L\u2019auto avale les courbes sans broncher dans ce mode sport, et le turbo procure un bon agr\u00e9ment de conduite et de bonnes relances d\u00e8s les plus bas r\u00e9gimes.<\/p>\n

On prend ainsi un certain plaisir \u00e0 venir d\u00e9lester le train arri\u00e8re dans les virages pour pouvoir repartir pied au plancher en sortie. M\u00eame \u00e9quip\u00e9e des 4 roues directrices, ce mode permet une conduite plus lib\u00e9r\u00e9e et r\u00e9v\u00e8le le comportement joueur du train arri\u00e8re, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 la plupart de ses concurrentes actuelles se montrent imperturbables.<\/p>\n

Disponible \u00e0 partir de CHF 38’200.-, notre version d\u2019essai bien \u00e9quip\u00e9e se monte \u00e0 CHF 50’050.-, un montant sup\u00e9rieur aux concurrentes asiatiques mais proche de la Seat Leon Cupra R essay\u00e9e r\u00e9cemment. Si face \u00e0 certaines concurrentes, la nouvelle Renault Megane RS affiche un l\u00e9ger d\u00e9ficit de performances sur papier, elle le compense en \u00e9tant la seule de son segment \u00e0 \u00eatre dot\u00e9e de 4 roues directrices ainsi que d\u2019un train arri\u00e8re joueur, la r\u00e9v\u00e9lant comme une excellente surprise en mati\u00e8re de sensations de conduite\u00a0!<\/strong><\/p>\n
