VW Up! GTI<\/strong><\/h3>\n

La d\u00e9couverte de ce mod\u00e8le dans les environs de Monaco<\/a> en d\u00e9but d\u2019ann\u00e9e m\u2019avait pleinement convaincu. Je ne dois d\u2019ailleurs pas \u00eatre le seul \u00e0 avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9duit, puisque pr\u00e8s d\u2019une Up! sur cinq vendue en suisse en 2018 est une GTI\u00a0! C\u2019est elle qui se rapproche le plus de la Golf I GTI d\u2019antan. En effet, son gabarit et ses performances sont proches. D’ailleurs, il est facile de les comparer dans le parc d’assistance du circuit de l’Anneau du Rhin, m\u00eame si il n’\u00e9tait malheureusement pas possible d’essayer la Golf I GTI.<\/p>\n

La position de conduite n\u2019est malheureusement pas son point fort, et le maintien anecdotique des si\u00e8ges force \u00e0 se servir des genoux pour rester \u00e0 sa place. Hormis ces d\u00e9fauts, je retrouve une voiture tr\u00e8s amusante \u00e0 conduire. De plus, \u00e9tant la moins puissante du peloton, il va falloir cravacher du levier de vitesse pour suivre le rythme.<\/p>\n

Le rythme est d\u2019ailleurs donn\u00e9 par Benjamin Leuchter au volant d\u2019une Golf GTI de derni\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Si son nom ne vous dit rien, c\u2019est un pilote allemand qui roule en championnat TCR. Dans son CV, on peut aussi noter le record \u00e9tabli en son temps avec une traction avant sur la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre Nordschleife, en 7 minutes et 49 secondes au volant d\u2019une Golf GTi Clubsport. Autant vous dire qu\u2019il a tout loisir d\u2019admirer le paysage, en devant attendre la Up! GTI qui le suit.<\/p>\n

Pour qu\u2019il s\u2019emb\u00eate le moins possible, j\u2019essaye d\u2019exploiter au mieux ma compacte. Heureusement, elle n\u2019accuse pas de sous-virage intempestif et prends tr\u00e8s peu de roulis. Un vrai r\u00e9gal dans la partie technique du circuit. Sa puissance limit\u00e9e se fait par contre sentir dans les sorties de courbes et lors de la longue ligne droite, qui parait ici interminable.<\/p>\n

Son terrain de jeu sera donc plut\u00f4t la ville ainsi que les petites routes sinueuses, avec pourquoi pas une incursion sur un circuit pas trop rapide de temps \u00e0 autre.<\/p>\n

VW Polo GTI<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Le d\u00e9paysement avec le Up! est complet. On est clairement pass\u00e9 dans une classe au-dessus. Je suis maintenant assis dans des si\u00e8ges enveloppants, et l\u2019Active Info Display (affichage tout num\u00e9rique) me fait face. Le volant est par contre le m\u00eame, mais comporte des palettes de changement de vitesse. En effet, contrairement \u00e0 sa devanci\u00e8re<\/a>, la nouvelle Polo GTI n\u2019est disponible qu\u2019avec la bo\u00eete \u00e0 double embrayage DSG \u00e0 6 rapports.<\/p>\n

D\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration, la diff\u00e9rence de performance saute aux yeux. Plus de 2 secondes s\u00e9parent les deux s\u0153urs sur l\u2019exercice du 0-100 km\/h. Je comprends maintenant pourquoi lors de la premi\u00e8re session la Polo GTI qui me suivait restait viss\u00e9e au pare-chocs arri\u00e8re de ma Up! GTI !<\/p>\n

Avec la Polo, il ne faut pas oublier de d\u00e9connecter les aides \u00e9lectroniques. M\u00eames si elles restent pr\u00e9sentes lorsque l\u2019on part \u00e0 la faute, elles se montrent quand m\u00eame bien moins intrusives et autorisent une plus grande marge de man\u0153uvre. Mais il faut ensuite doser les gaz pour ne pas se faire emporter hors de la trajectoire.<\/p>\n

M\u00eame en laissant un peu de distance avec la Up! GTI qui me pr\u00e9c\u00e8de, afin d\u2019avoir un peu de place pour tester les acc\u00e9l\u00e9rations, je me retrouve assez rapidement \u00e0 l\u2019arri\u00e8re de celle-ci.<\/p>\n

VW Golf GTI Performance<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ici, fini la planche de bord en couleur des petites s\u0153urs. Si certains utilisent l\u2019adjectif \u00ab\u00a0aust\u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb pour la d\u00e9signer, c\u2019est plut\u00f4t le mot \u00ab\u00a0sobre\u00a0\u00bb qui me vient \u00e0 l\u2019esprit.<\/p>\n

Contrairement \u00e0 la Polo, la Golf GTI est toujours \u00e9quip\u00e9e de la bo\u00eete manuelle \u00e0 6 rapports, et la bo\u00eete \u00e0 double embrayage DSG en option est dot\u00e9e d\u2019un 7\u00e8me rapport, comme sur la r\u00e9cente VW Golf R test\u00e9e l\u2019hiver dernier<\/a>. Par soucis de comparaison, et parce que je n\u2019ai naturellement pas besoin de me faire prier pour aligner des tours, je vais pouvoir tester les deux transmissions.<\/p>\n

Si elle fait merveille au Nurburgring, ou elle permet de grader en permanence les mains sur le volants, la bo\u00eete automatique DSG n\u2019est pas vraiment faite pour \u00eatre emmen\u00e9e sur un circuit comportant de nombreux passages lents.\u00a0 En effet, m\u00eame en mode\u00a0manuel, le rapport n\u2019est pas constamment verrouill\u00e9. Dans les parties techniques ou le passage sur le couple est des fois plus efficace, elle aura tendance \u00e0 r\u00e9trograder d\u00e8s que la pression sur la p\u00e9dale de gaz se fait trop importante. Et au contraire, lors des gros freinages, il faudra vraiment attendre avant qu\u2019elle accepte de rentrer le deuxi\u00e8me rapport.<\/p>\n

Par rapport \u00e0 la Polo GTI, le gain de performances est perceptible, mais les deux voitures restent toutefois assez proches en termes de philosophie et d\u2019agr\u00e9ment. Elles sont par ailleurs les deux sujettes au sous-virage s\u2019il on est trop optimiste en sortie de courbe, un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne qui est encore accentu\u00e9 sur circuit de par le fait que les pneus de s\u00e9rie sont mis \u00e0 tr\u00e8s forte contribution par le train avant.<\/p>\n

En conclusion, m\u00eame si la Up! GTI est tr\u00e8s amusante \u00e0 conduire, et la Polo GTI tr\u00e8s efficace, mon coup de c\u0153ur de la journ\u00e9e est pour la Golf GTI en bo\u00eete manuelle. C\u2019est elle qui d\u00e9livre le plus de sensations, et qui sort des courbes le plus fort. Sur circuit, la diff\u00e9rence est assez flagrante entre les deux transmissions. Mais il est probable que sur la route et en tenant compte d’autres facteurs d’utilisation, le constat soit un peu diff\u00e9rent, m\u00eame si la bo\u00eete manuelle conservera toujours des adeptes sur la route \u00e9galement.<\/p>\n

VW Golf GTI TCR<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Comme l\u2019ann\u00e9e pass\u00e9e<\/a>\u00a0(voir la vid\u00e9o ci-apr\u00e8s), j\u2019ai eu la chance de pouvoir tester la variante comp\u00e9tition de la Golf GTI, la TCR, en pr\u00e9sence des pilotes Florian Toma et Benjamin Leuchter.<\/p>\n

Les diff\u00e9rences entre les voitures de s\u00e9rie (quel que soit le mod\u00e8le) et une voiture de course sont toujours impressionnantes, en particulier lorsque l\u2019on \u00ab s\u2019ins\u00e8re \u00bb dans le baquet et que l\u2019on se retrouve dans un habitacle vid\u00e9 qui n\u2019a conserv\u00e9 que le stricte essentiel \u00e0 la conduite ! Et cette fois, les pneus slicks n\u2019\u00e9taient pas en bout de vie, et du coup le grip \u00e9tait vraiment impressionnant une fois qu\u2019ils \u00e9taient en temp\u00e9rature.
