Today Kelly Racing has confirmed its full co-driver line-up for the 2019 Supercars Enduro Cup series. Earlier in the week the team announced rising star Bryce Fullwood as André Heimgartner’s co-pilot and experienced racer Dale Wood as Rick Kelly’s enduro partner. Now the team can confirm Alex Rullo and Dean Fiore will complete the line-up.
Simona De Silvestro will share driving duties young-gun Alex Rullo in the #78 Team Harvey Norman Altima. Alex is just eighteen years old but has a wealth of experience having raced in Supercars at just seventeen years of age and Dunlop Super2 last year. Alex was also Simona’s co-driver in last year’s enduro series.
This year Alex is racing full time in Kelly Racing’s TCR program and will join Simona for her Supercars enduro campaign.
Kelly Racing’s first-year Supercars driver Garry Jacobson will partner with Dean Fiore for the Enduro rounds in the #3 Rabble.club Racing Altima. Dean has been a co-driver with Kelly Racing since 2014 and brings with him a wealth of experience in Supercars.
The Enduro Cup kicks off with the Bathurst 1000 in October, followed by the Gold Coast 600 and Sandown 500.
Kelly Racing Team quotes
Dean Fiore, #3 Rabble.club Racing
“It’s just like coming home again for me, going back into a bit of motor racing and walking back into the Kelly clan it’ll be business as usual. I absolutely love my time there and really looking forward to pairing up with Garry.”
“It’s interesting because Garry has done six years of Super2 so yes he’s a rookie in Supercars but he’s not really a rookie when it comes to driving a V8 Supercar so he knows exactly what he’s doing, I’m there to back him so I’ll be just be doing my job so I’m really excited about driving with him.”
“Garry was my team mate at Matt White Motorsport and we had some good battles so it’ll be great to actually drive alongside him this year in the Enduro Cup.”
“I’m looking forward to the Winton co-driver session, we’re still a fair way out from Winton at this stage but the sooner you can get into the car and get some laps under your belt and get accustom to the car you’re going to be driving the better off you are.”
Alex Rullo, #78 Team Harvey Norman
“It’s great to be able to partner with Simona once again for the Supercars Enduro cup, I’m stoked that the team chose to put me in their Supercar again and Simona has been good to work with in the past.”
“I did Super2 last year full time and this year I’ve moved into TCR with Kelly Racing so it’s great to be able to continue my relationship with the team.”
“I’m looking forward to getting in the Supercar again at Winton for the co-driver session. It’s been a while since I’ve driven the car so it’ll be good to get back into it a long way out from Bathurst and the sooner I can get used to it all again the better.”
